At a recent gig I was on, a jazz aficionado friend of mine told me about a band called Beatlejazz, and directed me to a site where I could find out more information. What a treat I was in for. As a professional musician and Beatles fan, I was delighted to hear the sound clips and then buy the new Beatlejazz album aptly named “.” I was hooked immediately; it really taps into the essence of the Beatles adding a great jazz flavor to it. These all-star jazz greats really know how to combine the best of the Beatles and jazz on such classic tracks as “Magical Mystery Tour”, “Let it Be”, “Blackbird”, and “I’ll Follow The Sun”. This album is one of the best I have heard for crossing-over two genres of musical styles and flavors. It is a must have if you are even remotely into the Beatles, and a must for jazz listeners.
